ABA RISES AGAINST FULANI HERDSMEN
The
situation in Aba, Abia state became very crazy when young men and women in aba
rose in revolt and started violent attacks on Fulani people in aba, currently
according to eye witness account two people have been confirmed dead and many
seriously injured,
This sad incidence started as a mere disagreement between a Fulani
man who was said to owe an Igbo man some amount of money, and when the Igbo man
came to collect his money the both parties started quarrelling as the Fulani
man was unable to pay his debt, on insistence of the Igbo Man that his money be
paid to him, the Fulani man brought out a dagger and stabbed the Igbo man to
death, this unholy incidence which from the report we gathered took place
around Water Side threw the whole city into a disarray today as everybody began
running helter scatter looking for a place to hide for safety as the youths
took to the streets to face the Fulani men in a bloody street fight,
We are
still waiting to get names of the victims and the perpetrators of this evil
act,
A young boy
of about 10 years who is also yet to be named has also been reported dead as he
mistakenly wandered into the Fulani camp, some Fulani men who were not close to
the camp ran to police stations and army barracks to seek refuge,
All shops at
the Aba market was closed by 4pm today so that the people can go on rampage to
avenge their dead, It has escalated to the extent that Igbo Muslims living in
Aba are now faced with the danger of being killed once spotted anywhere by the
angry Mob,
Many youths both male and female took to the streets naked with
weapons to fight the Fulani’s.
All efforts by Security agencies to stop the incidence from escalating proved
abortive as the people of Aba still carried on with their rampage and revenge
mission in the midst of tear gas and other security measures,
Aba which has
been known as a den for indigenous people of Biafra is now in a very delicate
situation and we hope things doesn’t get out of hand due to the current
situation on ground.
